Taylor Nelson of Pine City was recognized for leadership and service to the university and community and received the 2017 Chancellor’s Leadership Award at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Nelson majored in health science and pre-occupational therapy. She was a member of the National Society for Leadership and Success, Phi Kappa Phi honor society, Colleges against Cancer and Red Cross Club. She served as a community adviser and Pointer Pal in the residence halls and volunteered with Labor of Love and Make a Difference Day.

She graduated with summa cum laude honors and is the daughter of Tami and Mark Nelson.
