A 21-year-old man has been charged with felony first- and third-degree criminal sexual conduct after admitting to having a sexual relationship with a female under the age of 16.
On Sept. 5, two deputies of the Pine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an adult male who had been engaging in sexual intercourse with a teenage female. The adult male was identified as Kyle Allen Zimmerman, 21, of Moose Lake.
Both Zimmerman and the female told deputies that they have been dating since December 2018 and began a sexual relationship in February 2019. Zimmerman knew how old she was.
The maximum charge for first-degree criminal sexual conduct is 30 years in jail, a $40,000 fine or both. The maximum charge for third-degree criminal sexual conduct is 15 years in jail, a $30,000 fine or both.
