River will be appearing in concert at St John’s Lutheran

Church, 980 W 4th Street, in Rush City MN on Sunday evening, March 14 at 6:00 p.m. A freewill offering will be taken.

River is a nationally known touring group that has released 10 recordings including their latest, Caught Up In You. A concert with River is filled with great songs, stories and worship.

Since 1997, River has been one of the most played artists on Christian radio with 15 singles climbing into the Top 20 on national Inspirational charts including “I Will,” “My Love” and “God of Every Generation.” Kurt Linn, Paul Marino and Phil Reesnes formed River in 1989. Throughout the trio’s 18 years of ministry, they have performed over thirteen hundred concerts and events.

Russ Breimeier of ChristianityToday.com, says, “There's a genuine quality to the music ministry of River. They're pro-active in that they put their talents and heart for ministry into action, but they've left the measure of their success in God's hands.”

River is made up of Kurt Linn, Paul Marino and Phil Reesnes, the same three men who formed the group in 1989. The trio’s growth and longevity are due to more than just great songs and strong harmonies. Integrity and accountability have always been at the heart of River’s ministry. Shortly after starting the group, River formed a Board of Directors to provide vision, direction, and accountability. Each group member also has a personal mentor with whom they meet regularly.

River’s mission statement reads as follows: “We serve as ambassadors of Jesus Christ to inspire, encourage, and challenge people to live their lives in Him and in loving relationships with one another through Him.” Many are inspired, encouraged, and challenged as they begin to see themselves in the songs or recognize the common threads shared in the tapestry of life. Hope is celebrated as people hear a clear and passionate presentation of the Gospel and are led into a rich time of worship. For River, a faithful walk with Jesus is the only relationship that truly fulfills and it is the model of how we are to relate to one another.
