Hannah and Olivia Husom give a hug to the scarecrow they made for the July 16 scarecrow contest at the Community Garden on Third Street SE. The Husoms had the winning scarecrow in the contest, but all the participating youth were winners with their creative scarecrows - and for their help with the Community Garden. Last year, youth donated 321 pounds of vegetables to the Food Shelf from their plots, and they are trying to beat that record. The scarecrows are on display in the Community Garden.
