The ramps leading up to the new Highway 70 bridge over Interstate 35 are being reconstructed, and will remain closed through July 19.
Highway 70 ramp traffic will be detoured to County Road 7 in Pine City.
Then, in the early morning of Monday, July 22, demolition of the County Road 7/Hillside Avenue bridge will begin.
MnDOT Project Engineer Andrew Deming said that the two-year, $24,220,127 project is going well so far.
“Right now we’re on schedule,” Deming said. “As long as we don’t get any weather delays we should stay that way.”
During this last phase of the Highway 70 bridge reconstruction, Deming said drivers should keep safety and consideration in mind while dealing with detours and delays.
“We just ask people to be patient and to use the signed detours when the bridges are closed,” Deming said.
