A Hinckley restaurant was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday afternoon, and the suspect taken into custody on Aug. 14.
According to the Pine County Sheriff’s Office, on Aug. 13 at 2:09 p.m. Pine County dispatchers received a call of a robbery at the Cassidy’s Restaurant (327 Fire Monument Road) in Hinckley. The caller reported a male with a handgun had taken money from the cash register and then fled on foot.
The suspect was last seen running west toward the Family Dollar store on Fire Monument Road and then south on Oak Avenue.
The suspect is described as a black male with curly hair wearing a bright blue long sleeved shirt and dark colored pants. The suspect showed a handgun and is considered armed.
Deputies and the Pine County K-9 unit along with Minnesota State Troopers and the state patrol helicopter checked the area and several homes but did not locate the suspect. The suspect was not believed to be in the Hinckley area any more based on witness and surveillance information.
The suspect was taken into custody by the Baxter Police Department on Aug. 14. The suspect was arrested for warrants from Stearns County and linked to the Hinckley robbery at that time.
The sheriff’s office reports that due to the other agency investigations, the name of the suspect will be released once a formal complaint is issued in Pine County.
