Peggy Wasson

Peggy Lee (Hill) Wasson of Pine City died at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. She was 64 years old.

She was born April 16, 1956 in Heron Lake to parents Calvin and Mary (Peterson) Hill. The family moved to Pine City in 1962, she graduated from Pine City High School in 1974. She was united in marriage on May 26, 1978 to Rick Wasson and they were blessed with two children, Callie and Ricky.

There were many interests in her life that she loved that gave her pride and joy, but her grandchildren were at the top of her list. She spent her spare time watching her grandkids sporting events and sewing. So many children were born surrounded by one of her handmade quilts. Some of her family’s best memories of her smile happened at Hap’s Campground. She loved camping with all her friends. She left us with so many memories of 4-wheeling and bonfires. Cooking was one of her specialties and anyone in Pine County that had the pleasure to try one of her salads will agree. She will be greatly missed by so many.

She is survived by her husband Rick Wasson of Pine City; daughter, Callie (Jason Hulbert) Wasson of Mora; son, Ricky Jr (Ashley) Wasson of Pine City; grandchildren, Kody, Kaley and Jasie Hulbert, Tucker, Breckin and Boden Wasson; mother, Mary Hill of Pine City; brother, David (Dorothy) Hill of Pine City and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Calvin Hill; brothers, Duane Hill, Danny (Pamela Jo) Hill and grandson Deven Mettling.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020, at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City, officiated by Julie Samuelson. Visitation of family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 5 at the Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be at Birchwood Cemetery in Pine City following service.
