To the Editor:

This year’s Pine County Fair was definitely enjoyed by many people. Eddy Pangerl did a fantastic job organizing all the different music talents. The enormous number of people behind the scene involved to produce this Fair’s success must be appreciated. Then those that entered the various events made what the Fair is all about.

That enormous parade. What can I say about that? This year I had a chance to participate and see it from a different perspective. I was on a float, an actual pontoon boat, to invite people to go fishing. I had a chance to see the smiling then disappointed face of the kids when I did not have any candy. The adults seemed accepting of the invitation to join us for a free all-inclusive two-hour trip on Rush Lake.

Last year that group took over a thousand veterans, disabled people and children accompanied by an adult, and any others that just wanted to go fishing to Rush Lake. They mostly caught sunfish, but sometimes a stray northern would bite on the lure. Those that tried it returned home with big smiles. It was a great adventure.

Hope you can join us for two hours for a very nice, free, time. All equipment and bait provided by Let’s Go Fishing. It will be relaxing and maybe even rewarding.
