NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR THE 2018 STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT AND FOR THE 2019 STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND THE REVIEW AND UPGRADE OF THE LIFT STATION FOR BEAVER POND

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Pine City will meet in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at 8:00 a.m. on August 29, 2019, to consider adoption of the proposed final assessments for the 2018 Street Reconstruction Project in Pine City.  The area to be assessed for such improvement is Industrial Street NE between the center line of Airport Road and the center line of 2nd Street NE; Rypkema Road NE between the center line of Airport Road NE and 2nd Street NE and on Madeline Court NE between the center line of Rypkema Road NE and its terminus, pursuant to Minn. Stat. §§ 429.011 to 429.111.  The final cost of the improvement is $958,490.57.  

The Council will also consider adoption of the proposed final assessments for the 2019 Street Improvements and for the review and upgrade of the lift station for Beaver Pond in Pine City.  The area to be assessed for such improvement is 9th Avenue, pursuant to Minn. Stat. §§ 429.011 to 429.111.  The final cost of the improvement is $57,302.00.  

Copies of the final assessments will be available at the hearing.  

Upon conclusion of the public hearings the City Council will determine whether or not to adopt Resolutions #19-49 and #19-50 accepting the final assessments.

An owner may appeal an assessment to district court pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 429.081 by serving notice of the appeal upon the Mayor or Administrator of the City within 30 days after the adoption of the assessment and filing such notice with the district court within ten days after service upon the Mayor or City Administrator.

Deferrals will be handled pursuant to the City’s assessment policy (M.S.435.193 to 435.195).

Notice is Hereby Given, that Pine City Township is accepting sealed bids for a 5-year road maintenance contract to include the following services to the Township: Grading of town roads, road repair, snow and ice removal, sign placement & repair.  The contractor will provide their own equipment.  Please contact the Clerk for a copy of the contract either by email at pctownclerk@gmail.com or by phone at 651-621-4049.  All Bids are due to the Township Clerk by appointment no later than Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 at noon.
