The season that almost was: Softball 2020. We started our first week of practice on Monday March 9. In our first week of practice we had great rounds of batting practice, my pitchers and catchers were really starting to get into a rhythm, and we even dodged a few parking lot snow banks to get outside and catch fly balls. That Friday, I was able to reveal to the team our brand new jerseys that the seniors helped design, but by the end of that practice, the MSHSL had sent out it’s first decree: Hit pause on your season. I sent them home that night, and we laughed with a socially distant hands in - “GO DRAGONS!” at the end of practice. These nine ladies are going to accomplish great things. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. This crew of girls likes to go outside and slide in the mud, they run right through the lake in right center field to make the catch, and they always find ways to battle to win DQ prizes at practice! I wish these 9 senior ladies the best of luck as they graduate, knowing that this is not goodbye, just see you soon. I’ll be on the softball field; stop by for a great visit March - July in 2021 because the rest of us are going to come back #DragonStrong.
