Dragon volleyball hosted Hinckley-Finlayson on Tuesday, Sept. 24 and traveled to East Central on Thursday, Sept. 26 to take part in Eich Night at East Central.

On Tuesday, the Dragons defeated the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars 3-0. Leading Pine City defensively were Makenna Nelson with nine digs and Ellie Hasz  with six digs. Offensively, the Dragons were led by Ashley Faur and Ellie Hasz with 11 kills each, Makenna Nelson with 18 set assists, also Ashley Faur and Makenna Nelson with three ace serves each.

“We were honored to participate in Eich Night on Thursday at East Central. This game was a fundraiser for the Eich Family. Bailey Eich, a former East Central player, is battling Ewing Sarcoma,” said coach Tami Nelson. “The girls on both teams wore socks and gold ribbons in support of Bailey.”

It was a great night of volleyball for a great cause. The Dragons defeated the Eagles 3-0. Leading the team offensively was Ashley Faur with 13 kills and six ace serves, and Makenna Nelson with 20 set assists. Defensively, Pine City was led by Makenna Nelson, Ashley Faur and Ellie Hasz, each having seven digs, and Ellie Hasz with two solo blocks.
